Vinyl only remixes by Rainer Trüby, SoulBrigada and Yana Heinstein for Gilles Peterson's first Havana Cultura album. This limited edition vinyl features the winner of GP's remix contest and - sugar on top - an unreleased remix edit by Rainer Trüby (co-produced by Danilo Plessow aka Motor City Drum Ensemble).
In late spring of 2011, Gilles Peterson took some time off his busy schedule to listen to almost 100 entries for the Gilles Peterson presents Havana Cultura Remix Contest. Two tracks from the Double CD by the same name, recorded at the famous EGREM Studios in Havana by a bunch of great Cuban musicians led by Gilles and Roberto Fonseca, were the source material for a string of exceptional contributions from all around the globe. Along the way, Gilles picked the two best remixes from Germany which now made it onto a strictly limited 12" vinyl for all the world to hear... and to dance to!
SoulBrigada was initiated in 2009 by Alex Dörrer and Fabio Visentin as a platform for their creative output. Their amazing „Cubanic Dub" of „Arroz con pollo" is an outstanding contribution: deep, soulful and destined to make people dance!
